Market for unidentified items?
Given that the 'unlocking' of a weapon upgrade or rune is tied to the account that identifies the item, how much of a market is there in unidentified gold and purple items?
All of them that I see down in Ventari's Sell here on this site seem to be already identified, which doesn't help the high-end PvP crowd, who don't want the items themselves so much as they want components and runes unlocked for PvP.
So: if I start farming unidentified purple and gold items, how much do folks here think I should ask for them?

I would say that purple and gold weapons aren't worth a whole lot since a lot of weapon upgrades aren't that good anyway and the chances that a REALLY good upgrade item will be unlocked from a weapon is very low...
However, if you get a gold salvage item, there's a very good chance that IDing it will unlock a major rune, and I would say that it could sell pretty well...
Personally I prefer to actually unlock the stuff for myself. I unlocked a major rune of vigor a few days ago, but didn't actually use the rune and sold it for 4k (I'm aware that it's not worth that much but somebody offered that much...)
If I can manage to unlock some elementalist runes... I'll be able to make some really sweet PVP characters to participate in guild battles. My RP char is already pretty good though and I think I would do fine in guild battles, but I havn't done one yet.

A major rune of vigor can be worth more then 4k.

I personally would not consider buying unidentified uncommon items - the weapons rarely have upgrades, and you don't get better than major runes out of the salvagables.
Unidentified, rare, high-end armors (from level 20+ enemies) I'd pay at least 5k for, possibly more. I've never seen one for sale though.
Peace,

I can live with that... I know places that have 'em... unlocked a couple of major runes and components yesterday, before I realized how the PvP unlocking system actually works, and that I should put them up for sale, rather than identifying them myself.
Charles, are you still handling trades, i.e., can I count on you as a customer for the unidentified rare armors and possibly other rare unidentified items that I find? I don't want to have to indulge in trade-spam to sell these things: if you can find end-users, and I can find items, I think we can have a pretty good setup going.
I'll be happy to affidavit the creatures and levels they dropped from, though obviously not where they drop; that's my trade secret (although if I keep handing you—for instance—gold-letter Tengu or Maaguma armors, it should be pretty clear where I'm getting them).

Let me say this - I'd sell a Celestial Sigil for 5 rare (gold) unidentified high-level (Droknar's Forge and beyond) armors. And maybe for 10 purple ones.

Can someone tell me how you get superior runes then, if you don't get them out of dropped armor?

A: You buy them.
Anywayz, I've seen people buying gold armors for up to 10k, so they're pretty much in demand right now.
